Recovering an image from a document, not screenshotting it
When the only surviving copy of a chart or logo is inside a Word file, the instinct is to screenshot it — and that hands you whatever resolution your monitor happens to be, with compression artefacts baked in. A .docx is a ZIP package and the pictures are stored inside it as ordinary image files, so they can simply be copied out. Both files here came out byte-for-byte identical to the originals somebody inserted: full resolution, no re-encoding, transparency intact. Same applies to PowerPoint decks and Excel workbooks.

What this tool does
